October 8 (SeeNews) - Slovenian winery Radgonske Gorice is in talks for the acquisition of its local peer Ptujska Klet, local media reported.
Radgonske Gorice has filed a bid for acquiring Ptujska Klet and the two parties held negotiations on the deal in the summer months, news daily Vecer quoted Radgonske's general manager, Borut Cvetkovic, as saying last week.

"We have not yet received a final answer by Ptujska Klet's owner," Cvetkovic told Vecer.
Ptujska Klet is a subsidiary of Slovenian poultry producer Perutnina Ptuj, which was acquired earlier this year by Ukraine's MHP Group, one of the leading international agricultural and food processing companies.
Radgonske Gorice is owned by one of Slovenia's oldest and biggest meat producers, Celjske Mesnine.
"Radgonske Gorice is in the same vineyard area as Ptujska Klet. Therefore, we believe the acquisition is a wise move since thanks to it we want to strengthen our business and at the same time to prevent the decline of vineyards in the wine-producing region of Stajerska," Cvetkovic explained.
