February 26 (SeeNews) - Slovenian steel producer Slovenska Industrija Jekla (SIJ) said on Friday it has acquired a further 26.09% of local poultry producer Perutnina Ptuj following the successful completion of a tender offer launched in December.
SIJ purchased a total of 2,846,733 Perutnina Ptuj shares and now holds a combined 8,449,917 shares, or 77.43% of the company, Slovenia's steel producer said in a filing with the Ljubljana bourse.

Prior to the takeover bid SIJ owned directly 5,000,000 Perutnina Ptuj shares and an additional 603,184 shares, equal to a 5.5% stake, through local holding company Holding PMP which it acquired recently.
The tender offer was accepted by 2,348 shareholders.
Perutnina Ptuj's share capital consists of 10,912,500 ordinary shares.
In December, SIJ announced it intends to launch a takeover bid for the remaining shares of Perutnina Ptuj after recapitalising the company with 40 million euro ($44 million).
SIJ is 72.2%-owned by Dutch-registered Dilon Cooperatief. The other major shareholder is the Slovenian state with a 25% stake.
