October 23 (SeeNews) - The share indices of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) moved ahead on Tuesday, mirroring gains on stock markets aboard triggered by strong results of U.S. companies, brokers said.
“The Slovenian shares benefited from a wave of investor optimism on equity markets worldwide,” one trader said.
The bourse's broader 15-share SBI20 index rose 0.89% to 11,488.22 points. The blue-chip index SBITOP advanced 1.04% to 2,504.04.
Drug maker Krka added 0.39% to 112.11 euro closing on the day’s biggest turnover, 4.1 million euro.
The other shares that attracted more than one million euro volumes were retailer Mercator, down 0.73% to 345.40 euro closing on 1.1 million euro turnover; fuel trader Petrol, up 2.43% to 961.72 euro on 1.3 million euro of turnover, and Telekom Slovenije, up 2.37% to 434.16 euro closing on 1.9 million euro of turnover.
A further three blue-chips rose and four declined.
Total turnover on the LJSE climbed to almost 12 million euro ($17 million) from only 7.4 million euro a day earlier.
