November 19 (SeeNews) - Slovenian businessman Izet Rastoder has founded an airline company at the end of October, local media reported on Tuesday.
By setting up his company Air Adriatic Rastoder is planning to enter the business of leasing aircraft for private flights and has already bought two small aircraft, news daily Dnevnik reported.
Rastoder, also known as the local "banana king" because of his banana imports and sale business, has reportedly submitted one of five bids in the tender for the sale of assets of Slovenia's collapsed flag carrier Adria Airways. The deadline for submitting offers expired last week.
Adria Airways suspended flights in the last week of September over lack of funds to run its daily operations. It entered into bankruptcy proceedings at the beginning of October.
