September 21 (SeeNews) - The net profit of commercial banks in Slovenia rose to 557.9 million euro ($594.5 million) in the first seven months of 2023 from 267.1 million euro in the like period of last year, the central bank said.
The banks' net interest income grew to 982.5 million euro in the period under review from 456.9 million euro, whereas non-interest income went down 1.2% to 356.3 million euro, Bank of Slovenia said in its monthly report on the performance of the banking sector.
The total gross income of banks in Slovenia grew to 1.148 billion euro in the first seven months from 744.4 million euro, while operating costs increased 11% to 488.7 million euro.
The banks' total assets grew to 52.009 billion euro at end-July, up from 50.575 billion euro at the end of 2022.
