April 20 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's general government surplus will rise to 163 million euro ($200.6 million), equivalent to 0.4% of GDP in 2018, from a surplus of 13 million euro last year, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
Slovenia's general government sector saw its first surplus in 22 years in 2017, equivalent to 0.03% of GDP, the statistical office said in a statement confirming its estimate published in March.
According to data from Slovenia's finance ministry, government debt will increase to 32.28 billion euro in nominal terms at the end of 2018, from 31.86 billion euro in 2017, the statistical office noted.
However, government debt-to-GDP ratio will decrease to 69.3% in 2018, compared to 73.6% of GDP last year, on the back of expected growth of nominal GDP.
In March, the statistical office said that Slovenia's general government revenue rose 6.5% on the year to 18.658 billion euro in 2017, while expenditures increased to 18.645 billion euro from 18.299 billion euro.
