December 7 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's government will allocate 1.2 billion euro ($1.3 billion) to measures to mitigate the effects of the energy crisis, preserve jobs and ensure the liquidity of enterprises in 2023, it said.
The financial package includes subsidies for high electricity and natural gas prices, the government said in a statement on Tuesday.
The financial package involves 850 million euro earmarked for co-financing the high prices of electricity and natural gas, 100 million euro for co-financing measures of reduced working hours and forced leave, and 250 million euro for improving the liquidity of companies, the economy ministry said.
"The assistance package adopted is one of the most comprehensive in the history of Slovenia, covering all sectors of the economy and all enterprises, from small to large ones. The assistance is addressed to those companies that will really need it," economy minister Matjaz Han said.
In November, the Slovenian parliament adopted the country's budget for 2023 and 2024, envisaging 2.4 billion euro investments next year and 1.8 billion euro in the following year, primarily for green technologies and digitalisation projects.
