LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), January 9 (SeeNews) – Slovenia recorded a trade deficit of 152.2 million euro ($169.4 million) in the first eleven months of 2019, compared to a surplus of 354.1 million euro in like period of 2018, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
Exports rose to 31.1 billion euro in January-November, 8.8% higher than a year earlier, while imports increased by 10.6% to 31.3 billion euro, the statistical office said in a statement.
The European Union was Slovenia’s main trading partner in the first eleven months of 2019, absorbing 23.0 billion euro of the country's exports and providing 22.9 billion euro of Slovenia's imports.
In November alone, Slovenia recorded a trade surplus of 88.1 million euro, as exports rose 4.0% on the year to 2.9 billion euro while imports expanded by 0.4% to 2.8 billion euro.
