March 25 (SeeNews) - A fourth person has died from the novel coronavirus in Slovenia, as the number of infected rose to 480 by Tuesday morning, from Monday's 442, the National Institute for Public Health, NIJZ, said.
All four fatalities were people older than 65 years of age, NIJZ said in a statement on Tuesday.
It added that the latest data came as a result of testing a total of 14,870 people.
Most of the infected are in the 45-54 and 25-34 age groups, followed by people between 55 and 64 years of age, the data showed.
Out of all infected, 242 are female and 238 are male.
Last week, health minister Tomaz Gantar said the number of people infected by the coronavirus in the country is probably five times the officially confirmed cases, as the government declared a state of emergency, closing down schools, kindergartens, border crossings, public transport and cancelled all passenger flights inside the country.
The first confirmed coronavirus case in Slovenia was reported on March 4.
