May 31 (SeeNews) - The total number of tourists recorded in Slovenia in April stood at 377,612, up from only 29,285 recorded in the like period of last year, the state statistical office said, citing provisional data.
The number of foreign tourists who visited Slovenia in April stood at 218,990, up from 8,694 in April 2021, and their overnight stays totalled 533,350, the statistical office said in a statement.
Visits by domestic tourists totalled 158,622 and their overnight stays came in at 395,704 in April.
Most foreign overnight stays in April 2022 were generated by tourists from Austria (14.1% of total), Germany (13.4%), Italy (12.6%), Serbia (6%), Hungary (5.4%), and Croatia (5.4%).
A total of 26% of all overnight stays in April were spent in spa resorts, followed by seaside resorts with a 23% share, mountain resorts with 19% and the capital Ljubljana with 15%.
In the first four months of 2022, tourist arrivals increased to 1,077,105 from 84,259, while overnight stays grew to 2,915,316 from 366,739.
