June 20 (SeeNews) - The number of mobile phone users in Slovenia rose 1% on the year to some 2.34 million in the first quarter, the country’s statistics office said on Monday.
Outgoing traffic from the mobile network in Slovenia increased by some 3% on the year in January-March to 18 million hours, the office said on its website.
The number of text messages sent rose 4% on the year to 679 million in the first quarter, while MMS messages jumped 15% to 15 million.
Outgoing voice traffic from fixed locations totalled 2.9 million hours through March, down 18% on the year.
In one year, the number of classical telephone connections decreased by 16%, while the number of IP telephone connections increased by 6%, to 517,000.
Slovenia had 577,000 broadband Internet connections at end-March with xDSL connections having a 42% share. The number of broadband Internet connections was up 3% on the year.
Slovenia has a population of around 2 million.
