March 22 (SeeNews) - Slovenia marked the highest annual increase in construction output in the EU in January, at 26.7%, the bloc's statistical office said.
In monthly terms, Slovenia also recorded the highest increase in construction production among EU member states in Southeast Europe (SEE), for which data is available, and second-largest in the EU, at 9.8%, Eurostat said in a data release on Tuesday.
At 4.3%, Romania posted the second-biggest monthly decline in the EU in January, which was also the only decrease among EU states in SEE. In the EU overall, construction output went up by 3.5% on a monthly comparison basis.
Bulgaria's construction output registered the only annual decline in the region in the first month of 2023, at 0.3%, compared to a bloc average increase of 1.4%.
