LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), January 18 (SeeNews) – Slovenia's government said it plans to support around 6,200 entrepreneurial projects and provide them access to nearly 630 million euro ($717.6 million) in low-cost funding through the Slovene Enterprise Fund during 2018-2023.
The adopted strategic programme of the state development agency for the five-year period aims to improve access to funding for various development and business projects of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), including financing of the start-up of companies and microfinancing, the government said in a press release following a meeting on Thursday.
“The starting points for the definition of the basic strategic elements of the Fund’s business policy are taken from the existing strategic documents, but the strategic programme is primarily based on defined market gaps and the emerging needs of the enterprise sector,” the government said, adding that the programme is also harmonised with the strategic documents of the ministry of economic development and technology.
The Slovene Enterprise Fund provided more than 1,070 million euro in financial support from various low-cost funds to more than 7,200 SMEs during 2007-2017.
