November 17 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's parliament has adopted the state budget framework for 2018 and 2019, with which the government aims to gradually balance revenues with expenditures, the finance ministry said.
Budget revenues are forecast in the amount of 9.68 billion euro ($11.4 billion) in 2018, while expenditures are projected at 9.63 billion euro. The resulting budget surplus of 50.9 million euro will be equivalent to 0.1% of next year's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the finance ministry said in a statement late on Thursday.
In 2019, revenues are planned to reach 9.75 billion euro, while expenditures are forecast at 9.70 billion euro.The budget surplus is projected at 53.8 million euro in 2019, or 0.1% of GDP.
Slovenia plans to balance its public finances by 2020.
In November last year, Slovenia forecast a budget deficit equivalent to 0.7% of GDP in 2018.
