LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), October 23 (SeeNews) – Slovenia is leader in Southeast Europe in terms of wealth per adult in the 2018 edition of the Credit Suisse's Global Wealth Report, while Moldova ranks lowest in the region.
Slovenia recorded a total wealth of $133 billion (115 billion euro) and wealth per adult of $31,703 during the 12 months to the middle of 2018, Credit Suisse Research Institute said in the ninth annual edition of its Global Wealth Report.
The highest total wealth in the region of Southeast Europe was recorded by Romania with $317 billion, while Montenegro registered the lowest level of total wealth, $12 billion.
All countries in the region improved both their total wealth and wealth per adult in 2018, compared to the previous year.
The aggregate global wealth rose by $14.0 trillion (4.6%) to a combined total of $317 trillion, outpacing population growth, the researchers noted.
"Wealth per adult grew by 3.2%, raising global mean wealth to a record high of $63,100 per adult. The US contributed most to global wealth adding $6.3 trillion and taking its total to $98 trillion. This continues its unbroken run of growth in both total wealth and wealth per adult every year since 2008."
China is in second place of the world wealth hierarchy followed by Japan.
