March 16 (SeeNews) - Slovenia was the highest ranked Southeast European (SEE) country in the 2018 edition of Digitalization index issued by France-based credit insurance company Euler Hermes, the company said on Friday.
Slovenia was placed 35th among 115 countries worldwide, according to Euler Hermes annual edition of Enabling Digitalization Index (EDI), which measures the ability and agility of countries to help digital companies thrive and traditional businesses harness the digital dividend.
The total score of each country consists of five components - proactive digital regulation (regulation), human capital and digital capabilities (knowledge), use of pivots for stronger connectivity (connectivity), smart logistics (infrastructure) and
reducing digital inequalities (size).
Croatia followed at 49th, declining from 46th in the previous issue of the index. Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria ranked at 55th, 57th and 58th place, respectively.
Montenegro and Moldova came in at the 66th and 68th spot, respectively. Moldova was the only country in SEE region which improved its performance in the ranking, climbing up from the 70th place in 2017.

The US topped the list globally, while Chad was at the bottom of the 2018 index, both unchanged from the previous edition of the ranking.
