March 20 (SeeNews) - The number of mobile phone users in Slovenia rose 1% on the year to 2.39 million at the end of December, the country’s statistical office said on Monday.
The number of mobile post-paid subscribers increased 3% on the year to 1,835,205, the office said on its website.
Outgoing traffic from the mobile network in Slovenia in 2016 increased 3.8% to 4.3 billion minutes.
The number of text messages sent rose 2.5% on the year to 2.6 billion last year.
There were 176,462 classic main telephone lines in Slovenia at the end of December, down 16% on the year.
The country had 588,329 broadband Internet connections at end-December, up 3.4% on the year. The number of xDSL connections decreased by 4%, while the number of optical fiber access connections increased at the annual level by 19%.
Slovenia has a population of around 2 million.
