Skopje City Mall Developer Contracts Carrefour, Inditex, Cineplex as Anchor Tenants

SKOPJE (Macedonia), March 20 (SeeNews) – Macedonian-based real estate developer Balfin MK said on Tuesday that it has contracted Carrefour, Inditex and Cineplex as anchor tenants in the 90 million euro ($118 million) Skopje City Mall due to open in six months.

French retailer Carrefour signed in July a lease agreement for an anchor hypermarket with a commercial area of 4,650 square metres (sq m), Balfin MK’s CEO Peter Warden told a news conference.

Spanish fashion retailer Inditex has signed lease contracts for stores with a total area of 4,350 sq m for its brands Zara, Stradivarius, Massimo Dutti, Paul and Bear and Bershka, Warden said. With its area of 2,190 sq m, Zara's two-floor store will be the biggest in the Balkans, he added.

Austrian cinema operator Cineplex plans to open nine 3D cinema halls in the shopping mall.

Balfin MK is a joint venture company in which ownership is equally split between Macedonia's largest retailer Fashion Group and Albanian-based retail and real estate development company Balfin.
