November 6 (SeeNews) - Shell Bulgaria, a unit of Royal Dutch Shell, said on Monday it has signed a strategic partnership deal with local E-mobility International operating under the brand Eldrive to install quick-charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) at the company's petrol stations.
E-mobility International will install quick-charging stations in 16 Shell locations at major roads and highways in Bulgaria by the end of the first quarter of 2018, Shell Bulgaria said in a statement.
The charging stations of 50 kW DC each will be able to recharge the batteries of electric vehicles up to 80% of their capacity in less than 20 minutes.
"It is a pleasure for us to be among the first countries where Shell introduces high-speed electric vehicle charging stations to its retail outlets, which would bring more convenience to our customers to charge their cars on the move," Kamelia Slaveikova, CEO of Shell Bulgaria, said in the statement.
The strategic partnership with Shell is an important step in the company's development, because it turns the Eldrive network into a complete product with national coverage, Stefan Spasov, executive director of Eldrive said in the statement.
