May 17 (SeeNews) - Shares of Uljanik Group [ZSE:ULJN] slumped on Friday after the shipbuilding company said a Croatian court has decided to open bankruptcy proceedings against it, Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) data showed.
Uljanik's shares fell 39.39% to a closing price of 0.40 kuna after trading in them resumed around midday on Friday. The stock was suspended from trading in the morning pending the decision of the commercial court in Pazin, which several days ago opened bankruptcy proceedings against Uljanik Shipyard, a key member of the group.
The share indices of the ZSE closed higher on Friday, with electrical equipment manufacturer Koncar Elektroindustrija [ZSE:KOEI] leading the blue-chip gainers.
Koncar's shares ended 2.21% higher at 695 kuna.
Croatian telecommunication services provider [ZSE:OPTE] paced the blue-chip decliners, as its shares closed 2.88% lower at 2.70 kuna.
Another telecommunication services provider, Hrvatski Telekom, [ZSE:HT] generated the highest trading turnover on the ZSE on Friday - 10.4 million kuna, including a block transaction of 7.3 million kuna.
ZSE's total trading turnover increased to 16.3 million kuna ($2.4 million/2.2 million euro), from 13.6 million kuna on Thursday.
The 25-share benchmark share index CROBEX grew 0.76% to 1,864.51 after rising 0.73% on Thursday.
The narrower of the ZSE's two blue-chip indices, the CROBEX10, which tracks the leading companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, increased 1.12% to 1,103.45 after adding 0.71% in the previous trading session.
The fixed-income CROBIS index edged down 0.04% to 113.1341.
