September 19 (SeeNews) - Serbian state-owned holding group Yumco opened a unit for the production of bulletproof vests at its factory in Vranje on Tuesday, the government said.
The company has invested 500,000 euro ($599,448) in the construction of the new production facility and intends to hire 150 workers for its operation, the Serbian government said in a statement.
The unit will focus on the production of ballistic protection vests, gloves and plates, the government said.
Yumco operates factories in Vranje, Vladnicin Han, Poljanici, Bosilegrad and Radovnici. The company produces fabrics, thread and military clothing.
