April 28 (SeeNews) - Serbia's foreign trade deficit in the first quarter of 2017 widened 17.8% on the year to $1.152 billion (1.053 million euro), data from the country's statistical office showed on Friday.
The country's exports rose 9.4% on the year to $3.741 billion, while imports grew 11.3% to $4.892 billion, the data indicated.
The export-import ratio fell to 76.5% from 77.8% in the first three months of 2016.
Serbia’s main export markets in the first quarter of 2017 were Italy and Germany, absorbing $575.6 million and $493.5 million worth of exports, respectively, while imports originating in Germany and Italy stood at $610.2 million and $490.2 million, respectively.
