June 30 (SeeNews) - Serbia's foreign trade deficit in the first five months of 2017 widened 13.5% on the year to $1.923 billion (1.687 billion euro), data from the country's statistical office showed on Friday.
The country's exports rose 9.0% to $6.548 billion, while imports grew 10.0% to $8.471 billion, the data indicated.
The export-import ratio fell to 77.3% from 78.0% in the first five months of 2016.
Serbia’s main export markets in the first five months of 2017 were Italy and Germany, absorbing $975.8 million and $826.5 million worth of exports, respectively, while imports originating in Germany and Italy stood at $1.062 billion and $867.4 million, respectively.
