June 15 (SeeNews) - Norwegian telecoms group Telenor said the number of current accounts of its Serbian online banking unit Telenor Banka has reached 300,000.
“Two and a half years of successful operations and 300,000 customers best illustrate the need of the citizens of Serbia for across-the-board mobile and online banking services," the president of the bank, Milos Brusin, said, as quoted in a statement of Telenor on Wednesday.
The constant growth of the number of opened current accounts motivates Telenor Banka to further develop its services, Brusin said.
A 20% growth in the usage of online banking services was registered in Serbia in 2016, Telenor said.
Telenor established the online banking unit in September 2014 after setting foot in Serbia in 2006 by acquiring local company Mobi63.
