September 19 (SeeNews) - Serbian state-run copper mining and smelting company RTB Bor said on Wednesday its exports amounted to $143 million (122.3 million euro) in the first eight months of 2018.
In August alone, RTB Bor's exports amounted to $18.6 million, RTB Bor said in its corporate newsletter Kolektiv.
RTB Bor's revenue from copper exports last month was $22 million, the company noted.
In the first eight months of 2018, the company exported 20,634 tonnes of copper to Turkey, Croatia, Germany, Italy and China, RTB Bor added.
The company also exported 2.6 tonnes of silver, 3.5 tonnes of platinum, 37 kg of palladium, 19 tonnes of selenium, 588 tonnes of copper sulfate and 13,000 tonnes of sulfuric acid in the first eight months of 2018.
RTB Bor started exports to China in July when it sold 750 tonnes of copper in the Asian country. In August, the company exported 1,000 tonnes of copper to China.
Serbia's government said on September 1 it picked China's Zijin Mining Group as a strategic partner in RTB Bor. Zijin will invest $1.26 billion and will hold a 65% stake in RTB Bor.
