March 17 (SeeNews) - Serbian copper smelter and miner RTB Bor has signed with German engineering services provider BDH Consulting a deal on the construction of a 50 million euro ($69.5 million) wastewater treatment plant, Belgrade-based media reported.
A system for the treatment of industrial wastewater should be commissioned by the end of the year to be followed by the completion of an installation for sewage treatment, news portal Tanjugbiz.rs reported on Friday.
The project is 80%-financed with EU funds while the remainder will be provided by the Bor local authorities.
RTB Bor is based in eastern Serbia, where it operates several excavation sites near the towns of Bor and Majdanpek.
