October 13 (SeeNews) - Serbia's national railway infrastructure asset management company Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije (IZS) said it has launched the second phase of a 55 million euro ($53.3 million) project for a park in Belgrade.
The second stage of the Linear Park in Belgrade - Donji Grad project is worth 70 million dinars ($578,300/597,000 euro) and will comprise the removal of old railway infrastructure, clearing a 4.5-kilometre land plot in the centre of the Serbian capital, the company said in statement on Wednesday.
The works are being conducted by a tie-up of local companies Srbijaput, Srbijaput Logistika i Izgradnja, Triangla, PZP Kragujevac, MetalProm and PZP Sumadija and should be completed in 120 days.
According to the earlier statements by the city authorities, the construction of the park will take two to three years.
