May 15 (SeeNews) - Serbia's production of crude steel rose 7.1% on the year to 501,000 tonnes in the first quarter of 2019, according to data of the World Steel Association.
Serbia was the largest producer of crude steel among the seven countries of Southeast Europe (SEE) included in the World Steel Association's monthly production report for March.
The combined production of the seven SEE countries -- Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, North Macedonia, Serbia and Moldova -- fell by 0.4% on the year to 1.24 million tonnes in the first quarter of 2019.
Bosnia came second after Serbia with production of 219,000 tonnes of crude steel, up from 206,000 tonnes.
