BELGRADE (Serbia), August 26 (SeeNews) – Serbian footwear maker Progetti plans to build a new production unit in the industrial zone of Sombor, in northern Serbia, the Sombor city government said.
The Sombor city government has leased three plots with a total area of 44,070 square metres in the industrial zone to Progetti, it said in a statement last week.
The plots were leased at a total price of 20.272 million dinars ($191,500/171,000 euro), or 460 dinars per square metre, the Sombor city government said.
Progetti, founded in 2001 by two Italian brothers, Romano and Enrico Rossi, has three manufacturing sites in Serbia - one each in Sombor, Vladimirci and Vrsac, where it employs 500, 330 and 130, respectively.
The company produces 1.8 million shoe pairs annually. It outsources work to companies in Serbia, Bosnia and North Macedonia, providing them with the needed machinery.
