July 3 (SeeNews) - Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic said he expects the country's budget balance for the first half of 2017 to show a surplus of up to 28 billion dinars ($264.9 million/232.7 million euro), local media reported.
In June alone, the surplus is expected to stand at around 22 million euro, Serbian public broadcaster Radio Televizija Srbije (RTS) quoted Vucic as saying on Friday on the sidelines of a regional summit in Croatia.
May and June were exceptional months for Serbia's economic growth, Vucic said.
Serbia's budget balance showed a surplus of 12.5 billion dinars in the five months through May, compared to a deficit of 11.3 billion dinars in the respective period of last year, the finance ministry said last week.
In May alone, Serbia reported a budget surplus of 1.8 billion dinars, based on revenues of 87.3 billion dinars and expenditure of 85.6 billion dinars.
