October 11 (SeeNews) - Serbian blue-chip oil group NIS [BEL:NIIS] said it has started processing oil from Russia's Novy Port field at its refinery in Pancevo.
The processing of Novy Port oil was launched in the first half of 2017, NIS said in a business activity report for the period posted on its website.
Novy Port oil is produced by Russia's Gazprom Neft at Novoportovskoye, one of the largest oil and gas condensate fields in the Yamal pensisula, in Siberia. Gazprom Neft started exploration activities at the deposit last year, according to company data.
Earlier this month, the president of Gazprom Neft, Aleksandr Dyukov, said the company plans to launch a project for boosting the efficiency of the refining process at the Pancevo oil refinery by the end of 2017
Gazprom Neft controls a 56.15% of the share capital of NIS, while the Serbian government owns a 29.87% stake.
