July 1 (SeeNews) - The shareholders of Serbian blue-chip oil and gas group NIS [BEL:NIIS] approved the company's proposal to distribute a total of 6.518 billion dinars ($62.7 million/55.3 million euro) of last year's profit as dividends, NIS said.
The remainder of the profit, in the total amount of 19.55 billion dinars, will be retained in reserves, which will lift NIS' overall retained earnings to 161 billion dinars, the company said in a filing with the Belgrade Stock Exchange on Friday.
In this way, NIS will distribute a gross dividend of 39.97 dinars per share from its 2018 profit, lower than the previous year's payout of 42.61 dinars.
The shareholders of NIS approved the proposal during their meeting on June 27, the company said.
NIS recorded a net profit of 25.1 billion dinars in 2018, down 7%.
Shares in NIS closed 0.44% lower at 685 dinars on the Belgrade Stock Exchange on Friday.
