May 4 (SeeNews) - Serbia's Nis airport said that it served 84,840 passengers in the first four months of 2022, sharply up from 7,362 in the same period of the previous year when Covid-related travel restrictions were in place.
The number of takeoffs and landings at Nis airport rose by 293% on the year to 526 during the review period, Nis Airport said in a data release on Tuesday.
Cargo volume went down 88% on an annual comparison basis in January-April, from 66.6 tonnes to 7.99 tonnes, according to the data.
In April alone, the number of passengers amounted to 33,415, up from 2,145 in April 2021 and a 53.5% increase compared to March 2022.
