BELGRADE (Serbia), July 10 (SeeNews) – The number of mobile phone subscribers in Serbia fell to 8.38 million at the end of March, from 8.43 million at the end of 2018, according to data of the country's telecommunications regulator.

The number of fixed-line subscribers decreased to 2.42 million in March from 2.43 million at the end of last year, figures posted on the website of the Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (Ratel) show.

Serbia, with a population of around 7 million, has three operators active in the mobile segment - Telekom Srbija, Telenor and Vip Mobile.

Telekom Srbija had a 44.7% share of the overall number of subscribers at the end of March, followed by Telenor with 31.4% and Vip Mobile with 23.6%.

Serbia's media content subscribers amounted to 1.88 million at the end of March, the same as in December 2018. The leading platform for distribution of radio and TV programmes to end-users in Serbia was digital CATV, with a market share of 47.9%, followed by IPTV and analogue CATV with 24.3% and 13.9%, respectively. DTH had a market share of 11.8%.

A total of 44.3% of the fixed broadband Internet access subscribers used cable connection, followed by xDSL and wireless connections with 42.1% and 5.4%, respectively.
