September 24 (SeeNews) - Serbia's Krusevac city council has approved a project to for awarding a 15-year concession for the operation of 27 pharmacies on its territory, it said.
The pharmacies are currently operated by Apoteka Krusevac, a company owned by Krusevac municipality, the Krusevac city government said in a statement on Monday.
The concession fee for the operation of the pharmacies will be used to repay the debt of Apoteka Krusevac to employees and suppliers, the Krusevac city government said.
According to media reports, Apoteka Krusevac has been having financial problems since 2015 and currently owes six salaries to its employees.
The company has closed six pharmacies but did not manage to cope with the financial problems, news agency Beta said on Monday.
