June 7 (SeeNews) - Serbian ceramic tiles manufacturer Keramika Kanjiza completed a 5.3 million euro ($6.3 million) upgrade of its production plant in Kanjiza, the Prosperitati Foundation which co-finance the project said.
Prosperitati provided 1.5 million euro to Keramika Kanjiza towards the cost of the project, the foundation, financed by the Vojvodina Hungarian regional and community development fund, said in a statement on Wednesday.
"The investment means a new era in the factory's operations because we practically got a new factory, since we invested in new equipment," the general manager of Keramika Kanjiza, Ivana Veselinovic, said in the statement.
Keramika Kanjiza, in northern Serbia, produces about 3 million square metres of ceramic tiles annually and has 220 employees.
The Vojvodina Hungarian regional and community development foundation supports the development of Vojvodina’s areas populated by ethnic Hungarians, according to data from its website.
