September 15 (SeeNews) - Serbian blue-chip construction company Jedinstvo [BEL:JESV] said it has signed a 95.5 million euro ($114.2 million) contract for the construction of a flue gas desulphurisation unit at thermal power plant (TPP) Nikola Tesla A.
The project will be carried out by a consortium led by Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems and its total value stands at 167 million euro, Jedinstvo said in a filing with the Belgrade Stock Exchange on Thursday.
Under the terms of the contract, signed with state-owned power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS), the construction of the flue gas desulphurisation unit has to be completed within 36 months, Jedinstvo said.
The flue gas desulphurisation system in Nikola Tesla A will be built for blocks A3, A4, A5 and A6 and will use a limestone wet scrubbing system, EPS said earlier this week.
The Serbian government plans to finance the project with a loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
