August 31 (SeeNews) - Serbia's trade deficit rose by 59.7% on the year in the first seven months of 2022, reaching $6.996 billion (7 billion euro), the country's statistical office said on Wednesday.
Exports increased by 16.3% year-on-year to $16.673 billion in the January-July period, while imports went up by 26.5% to $23.699 billion, the statistical office said in a statement.
The export-import ratio fell to 70.4% from 76.6% in the first seven months of 2021.
In July alone, Serbia's exports increased by 3.5% on the year to $2.274 billion, while imports added 0.4% to $2.963 billion, resulting in a $689 million deficit.
On a monthly comparison basis, exports declined by 5.5% in July, while imports decreased by 9.9%.
