June 5 (SeeNews) - Serbia recorded a budget deficit of 34 billion dinars ($309.6 million/289.9 million euro) in the first four months of 2023, compared to a shortfall of 77.7 billion dinars in the like period of 2022, the finance ministry said on Monday.
Total budget revenues rose by a real 10.3% on the year to 562.4 billion dinars in the period under review, while expenditures went up by 1.5% to 596.4 billion dinars, the finance ministry said in a statement.
Tax revenues increased by a real annual 5.9% to 489.2 billion dinars in the January-April period of 2023, non-tax revenues rose by 15.1% to 52.5 billion dinars, while grants soared to 20.7 billion dinars from 2 billion dinars in the like period of 2022.
In April alone, Serbia's budget was in deficit of 5.4 billion dinars, after booking a deficit of 25.6 billion dinars in March.
At the end of 2022, Serbia's consolidated budget deficit stood at 235.2 billion dinars.
