August 29 (SeeNews) - Serbia's current account balance showed a deficit of 1.02 billion euro ($1.23 billion) in the first half of 2017, compared to a deficit of 687 million euro in the like period of last year, the central bank, NBS, said.
The deficit in trade in goods increased to 1.99 billion euro in the first six months of the year, while the surplus in services rose to 385 million euro, the NBS said in a monthly balance of payments report.
Serbia closed 2016 with a current account deficit of 1.37 billion euro, compared to a deficit of 1.75 billion euro in the previous year, according to NBS data. Trade deficit totalled 2.58 billion euro in 2016, as compared to a trade gap of 3.63 billion euro a year earlier.
