August 6 (SeeNews) - Serbia's budget surplus fell to 21.5 billion dinars ($204.7 million/182.6 million euro) in the first half of 2019 from 30.9 billion dinars in the prior-year period, official figures showed.
Primary budget surplus declined to 90.44 billion dinars in January-June from 94 billion dinars in the like period of 2018, according to data published by the finance ministry on Monday.
Total budget revenues increased to 611.8 billion dinars from 566.9 billion dinars, while expenditure went up to 590.3 billion dinars from 536 billion dinars in the first six months of 2018.
Tax revenues rose to 531.7 billion dinars in January-June 2019 from 488.3 billion dinars a year earlier, non-tax revenues increased to 76.7 billion dinars from 76.1 billion dinars, and grants went up to 3.4 billion dinars from 2.5 billion dinars.
On the expenditure side, current expenditure rose to 521.6 billion dinars, from 474 billion dinars, while capital expenditure climbed to 61.3 billion dinars from 50.1 billion dinars in January-June 2018.
In June alone, Serbia reported a budget surplus of 13.2 billion dinars, based on revenues of 113.4 billion dinars and expenditure of 100.2 billion dinars. The primary surplus totalled 25.5 billion dinars.
Serbia's budget was in surplus of 32.2 billion dinars in 2018, compared to a surplus of 33.9 billion dinars in the previous year.
