BELGRADE (Serbia), May 4 (SeeNews) – Serbia's infrastructure ministry said it plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Turkish civil engineering company Tasyapi for cooperation on road infrastructure projects.
The intention of the government is to further develop cooperation with Turkey through projects in the field of road, rail, water and air transport, as well as through the exchange of expertise in transport, infrastructure minister Zorana Mihajlovic said, as quoted in a statement by the government on Thursday.
The upcoming visit of president Aleksandar Vucic to Turkey is extremely important for Serbia, as key projects such as the construction of the Belgrade-Sarajevo motorway will be discussed, Mihajlovic said during a meeting with Turkey's ambassador to Serbia, Tanju Bilgic.
Mihajlovic and Bilgic also discussed the potential cooperation between flag carriers Air Serbia and Turkish Airlines, stressing the need for more codeshare agreements.
In October, the Serbian government said Turkey's transport minister Ahmet Arslan has signed a letter of intent on the participation of his country in a project for the construction of a motorway connecting Belgrade to Sarajevo.
