November 4 (SeeNews) - Serbia's government adopted the 2022 draft budget envisaging a fiscal deficit of 200.2 billion dinars ($1.97 billion/1.7 billion euro), equivalent to 3% of the projected gross domestic product (GDP), it said.
The draft budget targets revenues of 1.517 trillion dinars and expenses of 1.717 trillion dinars, the government said in a statement on Wednesday.
General government debt is projected to decline to 55.5% of GDP at the end of 2022.
The draft budget envisages a 5.5% increase in pensions as of January 1, while the minimum monthly wage in the country will rise by 9.4% to 35,012 dinars.
Serbia's budget recorded a deficit of 70.8 billion dinars in the eight months through August 2021, compared to a deficit of 344.6 billion dinars in the like period of 2020.
In 2020, the country's budget was in deficit of 459.1 billion dinars, compared to a surplus of 12.8 billion dinars in the previous year.
