August 31 (SeeNews) - Serbia's economic output grew by a real 3.9% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2022, after an annual increase of 4.3% in the first quarter, the country's statistical office said on Wednesday.
Compared to the first quarter, Serbia's gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 1.2% in April-June, the statistical office said in a flash estimate.
According to the flash data, in the second quarter of 2022 a significant real growth in gross value added compared to the same quarter of 2021 was recorded in wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; transportation and storage and accommodation and food service activities – 8.4%, and in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities – 4.6%. A fall in the gross value added was recorded in the construction sector (-7.6%), and the sector of agriculture, forestry and fishing (-5.4%).
Serbia's economic output increased by an estimated 7.4% last year, the statistical office said earlier.
