BELGRADE (Serbia), September 2 (SeeNews) – Serbia's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by a real 2.9% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2019, the country's statistical office said on Monday.
On a quarterly comparison basis, Serbia's economy expanded by 1.2% in the second quarter of 2019, the statistical office said.
The second quarter of 2019 saw a significant real growth of gross value added in the construction sector, of 16.8% year-on-year, while the information and communication sector expanded by 8.2%.
Among GDP components, households' expenditures on final consumption increased by an annual 2.6% in the second quarter, whereas general government expenditures on final consumption grew by 2.4%.
Gross fixed capital formation increased by 8.6% year-on-year in the second quarter, exports of goods and services expanded by 9.1%, while imports of goods and services grew by 10.9%.
