October 13 (SeeNews) - State-owned power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) has said it plans to invest 86 million dinars ($851,812/720,795 euro) into the reconstruction of 52 km of low-voltage transmission lines in Podrinje municipality, western Serbia.
The reconstruction works represent the first phase of a project for the overhaul of the power grid in Podrinje and more investments will be made in 2018, the managing director of EPS, Milorad Grcic, said in a statement on Thursday.
EPS intends to build a power transformer in Lesnica and has recently completed a 1 million euro investment in the overhaul of the Loznica 1 station.
The company expects to close 2017 with a profit of some 5 billion dinars, state secretary at the energy ministry, Zoran Predic, said last week.
