March 7 (SeeNews) - Serbian state-run power distributor Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) plans to call a tender for the overhaul of A1 and A2 units of thermal power plant (TPP) Nikola Tesla A by the end of March, its managing director Milorad Grcic said on Thursday.
The project will increase the capacity of the two units and will bring them in line with ecological standards, Grcic said in a video file posted on the website of Serbian news agency Tanjug.
Last month, Japan's Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems started the construction of a flue gas desulphurisation unit at Nikola Tesla A. EPS will invest 167 million euro ($188.6 million) in the project.
Nikola Tesla A is part of the Termoelektrane Nikola Tesla (TENT) power generation complex, which also includes the TPP Nikola Tesla B, TPP Morava and TPP Kolubara power plants.
