March 23 (SeeNews) - Serbian power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) has successfully completed a project worth 35 million Swiss francs ($35.3 million/32.7 million euro) for the modernisation of the monitoring and management system of Nikola Tesla B thermal power station, the country's energy minister said on Thursday.
EPS invested directly around 24 million Swiss francs in the project, while additional 11 million Swiss francs were donated by the Swiss government, Aleksandar Antic said, as quoted in a statement by the Serbian government.
The equipment needed for the upgrade of the monitoring systems was provided by German engineering conglomerate Siemens. The project led to an increase of the total capacity of the two units of Nikola Tesla B by 60 MW to 650 MW, the government said.
Nikola Tesla B is part of the Termoelektrane Nikola Tesla (TENT) power generation complex, which also includes the TPP Nikola Tesla A, TPP Morava and TPP Kolubara power plants.
TENT, located on the right bank of Sava river, has a total installed capacity of 3,286 MW.
