February 13 (SeeNews) - State-owned power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) said it has completed maintenance works on a 410 MVA electricity transformer of Kostolac B coal-fired power plant.
The maintenance works were carried out by Serbian company Komel transformator in the period between July and December 2016, EPS said in a statement on Friday.
Electricity output at Kostolac B reached a record-high volume last year and servicing the transformer would increase the power plant's reliability and safety, maintaining the existing high standards, the company added.
The 700 MW Kostolac B is part of power production and coal mining complex TE-KO Kostolac in eastern Serbia, which also includes the Drmno open-pit mine. TE-KO Kostolac operates another thermal power plant, Kostolac A, with an installed capacity of 310 MW.
