January 12 (SeeNews) - Milorad Grcic, the acting director of state-owned power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS), resigned, local media reported on Wednesday.
"I don't know anyone who hasn't made mistakes and I am aware of the problems that exist, but I could also spend days listing successes we have achieved. Instead, as a responsible and honest man, I decided to resign," Grcic said in his resigation to the government, as quoted by Blic daily.
Grcic was heavily criticized by energy minister Zorana Mihajlovic and president Aleksandar Vucic after both 620 megawatt (MW) units of Nikola Tesla B thermal power plant (TPP) were temporarily shut down in December due to a fire and a malfunctioning of one of its coal grinders.
"You will have to find some other line of work in the new year," Vucic told Grecic on December 26, during a joint press conference.
Earlier this week, a fire broke out in the EPS' Kolubara coal mining basin, causing a tailing-management system failure.
